Scope 3 Procurement Training
A curation of unparalleled expertise
Collaboratively built by procurement for procurement to turn Net-Zero ambition into action.
The Scope 3 Procurement Training is the first industry-wide learning pathway designed and peer-reviewed by more than 250 members of the Scope 3 Peer Group — a global collective dedicated to accelerating value-chain decarbonisation through collaboration and best practice sharing.
For over a year, industry leaders, NGOs, and Scope 3 experts have curated insights, peer-reviewed strategies, case studies and templates to co-develop a four-module learning journey that is:
Actionable and Targeted: Developed by procurement for procurement, it translates Net Zero goals into tangible procurement tactics your team and suppliers can implement.
Cross-Sector: Learning content is designed to be applicable across any industry and supply chain.
Future-Proof: With new content every six months, your learners remain at the cutting edge of evolving requirements and best practices in supply chain decarbonisation.
Scalable: E-learning enables at-scale access for your organisation and your suppliers. Options for in-person/virtual delivery are available.
Fosters Peer Learning: Access to an online community that transforms the training from a course into an ongoing professional resource, fostering continuous peer-to-peer learning, networking, and sustained knowledge sharing.
Despite the significance of Scope 3, procurement lacked one trusted, practical resource to turn climate ambition into action. That’s why we built this training.
-
Corporates’ supply chain scope 3 emissions are 26 times higher than their operational emissions - CDP 2024
-
Despite countless playbooks and webinars, Procurement told us they had no single place to send their buyer to understand how to decarbonise their supply chain
-
Existing climate trainings didn't address procurement’s unique challenges—like supplier data gaps, cost considerations and real-world sourcing

Learning Pathway
It has 4 key sections:
Understand - What is Scope 3 how can procurement address supply chain emissions.
Plan - Prioritise categories and suppliers and build targeted decarbonisation strategies.
Act - Embed carbon into the procurement decision making process and apply decarbonisation levers that have been tried and tested by industry leaders.
Review - Set up processes to continuously improve and keep your supply chain on a path to Net Zero.
Inner ring modules build foundational understanding.
Outer ring modules are more advanced and tell learners how to apply the knowledge with practical tools and case studies.
The Learning Pathway is accurate as of April 2025 and the modules will be updated with new best practices and case studies every 6 months.
The Learning Pathway focuses on empowering procurement professionals to decarbonise their supply chains. The modules take learners on a journey from understanding basic concepts right the way through to embedding carbon into procurement decisions.

Peer Community
Beyond the structured e-learning modules, we offer learners the opportunity to join an interactive, online community dedicated to Scope 3 Procurement. This community, hosted in the Equipoise+ LMS, adds significant value to the learning experience by:
Facilitating peer-to-peer learning: Learners can discuss course content, share practical insights, and solve challenges collaboratively.
Enhancing engagement and accountability: Interactive community features, including forums to help maintain motivation and increase course completion rates.
Providing continuous learning: Even after completing the training, learners remain connected, enabling ongoing knowledge sharing and access to new insights.
Building professional networks: Learners expand their professional networks with peers across different industries, which can foster collaboration and professional development.
Training implementation support: Dedicated workshops for buyers of the training (sustainability and/or procurement leads) who are buying the training for their teams to help embed the training.
Participation in the community is optional. Equipoise ensures rigorous compliance with all antitrust and anticompetitive laws. For organisations requiring confidentiality, we offer the possibility of creating private, organisation-specific communities.
